Foreword, preface, and introduction.

Report of the Master Judge: DANIEL's Times and Days: the Means and Ends of Earth: the millennial calendar: the book of DANIEL holds a schedule to the times and days of man on Earth since Jehovah and Adam in the garden (east) of Eden: the key is simple astronomy, the aeon-slow clockwork-like motions of the planets: Daniel discerned that he was living at the fulcrum of prophetic history. [Summary-Report] "Ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?" (MATT16:3)

GENESIS 1-3: the Creation of the Earth amid the cosmic heaven, as the ancient Jews and ancienter Hebrews explained it, reads like a space-age story told to a preschooler (eg. two-year-old Adam), and full of instructional innuendo enough to satisfy the future of past glory. GENESIS ONE begins with the heaven and our planet, Earth, as when already created, complete, and discerned only by God, Mind; GENESIS TWO continues with an individual man, in a certain place: "there arose a mist, and covered the face of the Earth". [ARCHAEODUS: First Journey]

Cain's Retreat - Cain's Seed: Cain became a vagabond, yet, Cain knew first-hand what life was intended to be like, and what he should learn for this intended life: In his failure we see YAHWEH's original purpose hanging like a jewel. In disobedience, Adam was expelled; In obedience, Christ comes forth.

Real Taking-Up: From the larger, more spiritual context, man springs from above, and is lifted-up from above, not pushed-up from the Earth ... the Earthy view of man involves deceits, which men have ever sought to dissolve. "As Moses lifted-up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up." (JOHN3:14)

The Christly Ascension: Since the earliest works of Jewish Scripture, there have been men revered for their greater insight, who knew the cosmos existed, but its evidences were slim for sharing, but Jesus perceived a way of sharing this with all mankind - he saw the oneness of God and man elevated every listener to understanding. "Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad." (JOHN8:56)

MENE MENE TEKEL UPHARSIN (PERES): count, count, weigh, divide. This was one of DANIEL's best anecdotes ... at King Belshazzar's last feast these words appeared unexpectedly in the plaster on the stone wall ... none of the Chaldean wisemen knew what the words meant, for they had preferred the king's meats and studies since childhood: a paucity of normal eating and learning ordinary things. Count, count, weigh, divide, equals, times, time, and, half-time.

The Left-Hand of Dream (equality): dreams seem to parallel awake, yet there is no other (third) parallel ... dreams have the same four dimensions of space and time, yet the dream of a peach did not come from the dream of a peach tree ... "For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition." (EPH2:14)

The Left-Hand of Awake (equation): dreams seem so mixed, so flighty, so remote yet so near ... occurrences so different that we must consider a third possibility. "Truth is sweeping down the centuries." (MBE) With the broom she's given, this is about how long it takes.

'Ology and 'Onomy: The ordinary sciences wrestle to free themselves from mere discourse, astronomy despises astrology, mathematics versus numerology; but Christian Science can handle both with ease, because both emanate from the human mind, and Christian Science is Science as it applies to humanity (MBE). "What is the chaff to the wheat?" (JER23:28)

St. John's REVELATION of Christ, Scientist: St. John read the skies much as did Daniel, yet his work is distinct: the two fit together, with St. John's the more detailed. "Declaring the end from the beginning." (ISA46:10) [REV:12, REV:15, REV:18]

The Jewish Redaction: Observation of nature was a study in law and order, purpose and constancy, God's work, which could be relied upon, and talked about, and (even as God originally) declared, good. And it made a good story-base. "The realization of the relationship between God and man, brings-on harmonious reception." (RKP/1963)

The Jewish Type (the Pool at BethEsda): Types of worship have ever caught the attentions of mankind, for clarity of thinking yields a deeper thought of reflection ... but types are not ultimately, permanently God's clear beckon.

Anointed for Abraham's Seed: Jesus complained, as a good Jew does, where the Jews were not obeying Abraham's will ... Look more largely at this inclusive concern. Christ, Messiah, anointed one, the chosen line of the light of Truth.

Walking on Water: a seemingly impossible feat, but a buoyant inspiration to Jesus' disciples, and for us today: stirring the ire of the Pharisees, and challenging our simple perceptions. "When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the LORD shall lift up a standard." (ISA59:19)

Greater Works (before going unto the Father): Jesus' prophecies are no less to be fulfilled than his own individual experience fulfilled Scriptural expectations. His promise that following him would come yet greater on Earth, because he went unto the Father, is the demand upon us today.

Cheese-it ... Not: food is for eating, but behold the zeal to let it spoil before eating: Mrs. Eddy never approved of intentional evil: if you are doing wrong, you can at once turn and do right; nothing can vitiate the ability and power divinely bestowed upon man by his Creator ... she appraised. "Touch not the unclean thing." (ISA52:11)

Practitioner's Good Humor: Christ Jesus paid special attention to washing his disciples' feet, for the dust on the feet is where we walked, while the dust on the body is on the wind. Likewise we all eat foods, but milk is our first course in obedience: the way in which we were trained-up to go when we are grown. (FOOT:PHYSICS::MOUTH:CHEMISTRY - little children put their physics in their chemistry) A refreshing look at Christ's promise.

Three-and-a-half Garbage Rules: we do, we should, handle error as nothing, and as we grow in spiritual understanding our sense of substance improves: we discern the substance of all things true, spontaneously: 'sermons-in-stone'. "Thy will be done on Earth as it [the Earth] is in [the] heaven." (Jesus)

The Prophecy of Halloween: a children's evening for ages, but it holds inspiration for thinking adults.... The adult in bondage to his beliefs, no more comprehends his real being than does the child; and the adult must be taken out of his darkness, before he can get rid of the illusive sufferings which throng the gloaming. (MBE:S&H371:14-18) Let's treat ourselves to some tricky thinking---'All-hallowed-evening.'

Pupil Platitudes: the pupil in Christian Science Sunday School is tractable, and readily picks the right meaning of words, but the language is yet large, and requires constant gleaning and culling, to promote best growth. I am; therefor I think; subterfuge: nothing saved is nothing earned.

Agedness Nor Sickness: Science and Health are practical beyond all cavil and subterfuge, and we must not hesitate nor demur to progress in this Christly Science and Health, anointed from-ever though discovered more recently for mankind on Earth. "Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen [learning], and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them." (JER10:2)

(Hidden from) Before the Foundation of the Earth: Jehovah's people existed in terms familiar to themselves, barely recorded in our Scriptures; coming to Earth was their new start: deductions and inferences on the development of the cosmos itself can prepare us for the inevitable meeting.

Hidden Since the Genesis of the Earth: we look back, and demand reason from historic records, to prove the larger picture of mankind's temporal origin and lot on the Earth, long after the Earth itself began, but unseen to our local view: "I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world." (MATT13:35)

GENESIS ZERO: before our Earth world, its sun and solar system, stood revolving in order, the cosmos was alive with business ... mankind, some kind of man, has always existed as surely as God has always existed ... we can estimate what it might have been, that it became us. "In the beginning was the Word, And the Word was with God, And the Word was God." (JOHN1:1)

The Mega-Garden of Eden: an anecdote: perfection is Scientific, Truth understood and demonstrated, discernible in mind not matter: not platitude, nor whittled imitation ... we might even ask beyond, whether the human mind can relinquish its altruistic tendency to carve itself niches in this world for everyone, doctorates here, presidencies there, quality style, a good life, a faith, a christianity, ... and leap to the very Christ: Jesus' own 'target' was to be the very real Christ himself, and this he taught his disciples to be. "What is the god of a mortal, but a mortal magnified?" (S&H140:31)

Quo Vadis (Whither Goest Thou): How does the evolving Church follow its passed Leader: only as she follows the Christ? (MBE) Is the Christ discernible only in her past works? or in the present tense? in her Successor's admonitions?! "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes." (REV21:4)

Errata: "Progress is the law of God, whose law demands of us only what we can certainly fulfil." (S&H233:6)

ADULT BASIC CONTINUING DEVELOPMENT EDUCATION

[1996-] Verses Versus Verses: Christian Science vs. Questions and Answers: True method is metaphysical, mental, intellectual, not brainwork: not sophomoric, not merely uplifted from error, but upheld by Truth: All space is filled with Love - What then is transmitted from teacher to student? Conversationally there are a few good pointers. [et cetera, et cetera, et cetera]

In every good work are gems turned up: In this same maintenance are insights to what actually happened in Noah's flood (Seth's lineage), and in Sumer and Egypt (Cain's lineage);- insights large enough to stand as articles themselves.

[2001] Garden Depressions Eastward in Eden: a discovery in the Middle East: Daniel may have read or heard about these, searched and examined telling evidences, and figured "a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces ... and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth." (DAN2:34-35 excerpted)

[2006] The Primogenitors: Biblical Egyptian Sumerian Jehovahns: The relation of the archaic Sumerians of the 4th millennium BC to the lineage of Adam and Eve in the same area north of the Persian Gulf and then-concurrent development of civilization in Egypt ... cross-referencing their patriarch-gods and document records, (exegesis and exposition; interpolation and extrapolation) ... "Before Abraham was, I am [saying... but himself hid as] Then took they up stones to cast." (JOHN8:58-59ex) Today, "Acquaintance with the original texts, and willingness to give up human beliefs (established by hierarchies, and instigated sometimes by the worst passions of men), open the way for Christian Science to be understood, and make the Bible the chart of life, where the buoys and healing currents of Truth are pointed out." (S&H24:4)

Nota Bene: the Church-altered editions of SCIENCE AND HEALTH, 1910, 1913, contain revisions penned but neither proofed nor copy righted by Rev. Eddy herself, (and also contain deletions and replacements in its Fruitage Chapter contributions from other Persons). Yet, cf mid-2001, a brochure missive from the Church contained a substantially uncorrected transcription error (falsifying diviners as divines) against her brief manuscript apotheosis of the Bible that included an apparent correction not-rendered in their typeset document---an, interpretation, they posthumously designated theirs,---which refutes the veracity of their ordinary process ... The authorized 1906 (1908) edition is the student prospectus.
